Onesies for OneWorld is your chance to positively affect the life of a child in our community. From now through February 19, every dollar donated will help stock the Baby Boutique at the OneWorld Community Health Center. The Baby Boutique is part of an innovative program where expecting families who attend prenatal appointments and classes receive “baby bucks” to spend on baby essentials at the boutique. Items available include diapers, care items (soaps and lotions), blankets, outfits, wipes, and of course, onesies.

OneWorld believes everyone deserves access to the best health care possible, regardless of economic or insurance status. More than 2,850 visits were made to the boutique in the past two years and, in 2020, 1,753 women received high-quality prenatal care through OneWorld.

American National Bank is a proud sponsor of the Onesies for OneWorld campaign. Suzi Sterba, Board Chairperson for OneWorld Community Health Center and First Vice President for American National Bank commented, “We believe our greatest asset is our community and we are driven to help businesses and organizations do more for its people. Sponsoring this unique program is just one way we can improve the health and well-being of our residents, for present and future generations.”

Sterba continued, “Receiving good medical care in the prenatal period encourages medical care throughout life. A healthy baby equals a health child; engaging with parents early on develops positive habits and healthy outcomes.” Regular prenatal visits can identify health issues and help protect the health of the mother and the developing fetus. The Maternal Health Task Force reports that women receiving no prenatal care are five times more likely to have a pregnancy-related death than those receiving prenatal care.

Let’s work together to make sure the future of our community gets the foundational care and supplies for a healthy start.

The 2022 campaign has concluded, but you can visit the OneWorld Community Health Centers website to learn more about their mission and how to get involved.
